Lyft

The ask: Create a Pride float for Lyft.

The work: In June 2016, gay marriage became a constitutional right. In June 2018, it became legally acceptable to deny a wedding cake to a gay couple. To celebrate the initial milestone and push against the recent setback, my design partner at Huge, Jae, and I pitched Lyft to do this Pride a little differently: by marrying 3 gay couples on the Lyft float with celebrity officiate Bobby Berk, a 50,000 person guest list, first dances, bouquet tosses, confetti canons, cakes baked by willing participants, a whole lot of love, and a whole lot of fight.

My role: I developed the concept and wrote Bobby’s officiant speech (which he stuck to word for word!).
